Also you pinged 172.16.16.25 Where that that IP come from? and why did you choose it when the first 172 IP you wrote was different.

hello I need your help a lot. I want to use the LAN port of the computer as if it were plugged into my own computer. Is it a simple program, I'm doing a VPN bridge but it doesn't. 2. I think I need one more router. So I want to use the LAN port of the computer that is connected to the internet with WIFI as far as I want to use it.

Can we connect like this beyond ACL of the routers in between, if both networks acre connected through routers?

I thought this was great as after I did it I was able to ping the IP which corresponds to the IP of my other machine, BUT THIS IS A TRICK, you are only ping the same PC not the other PC. when you map a drive and open the files you will see it's the same files as the PC you added the 2nd IP on. what a waste of time! I had a funny feeling about this because but I gave it a try.


I have Comcast for my service provider and they only have 2 Ethernet ports, so I hooked up my old router to one port so I could get 2 PCs on that router and the 3rd PC is on the Comcast router. All the PCs have Internet access but only the 2 PCs on my old router can see each other, the 3rd PC on the Comcast router cannot see the other 2. The problem I have is I want to be able to copy files between the 3 PCs without having to use the slow Wireless connection. This video is NOT the answer. If anyone knows how please let me know by posting the answer here. Now I have to remove those settings I just added.

Hi Thank You for the tutorial, i wonder is this will work with the setup i have at my home.

My modem router 10.1.1.1
connected to a PC (A) through LAN cable.
A Google wifi router 10.1.2.1 also connected to the same router.
(google wifi create their own IP pool and DHCP by default)

off course all the device inside google wifi's scope able to ping each other. but that 1 pc (A) attached to the modem router can't talk to the all the devices inside google wifi's scopes.

the reason is a NAS also attached to google wifi router.. and that 1 pc attached to modem router can't access the NAS at google's

please help

people check your ip address by typing ipconfig. You are pinging yourself not other device.

If you have many clients, use layer 3 switch is more easier.
