This is not “Right” it is reverting to the norm that existed nearly all of my life

Control of your borders, being financially prudent and wanting small government is hardly far right.

Remember: The “Far Right” are not far right. They’re just right.

The reason the Greens are down is because they are clearly not desecrating enough art.

Calling people far right is code for calling people ‘ a basket of deplorables ‘

What is the 'populist right'? What is the 'hard right'? What is the 'far right'? What is the 'extreme right'? What is the 'radical right'? What is 'right of centre'? What is, 'right leaning'? What is, well, just the 'right'? It seems on shows such as this it gets very complicated but, when the 'left' is mentioned, it's just 'the left.'

Actually, it's all about immigration.

That French journalist glossed over the fact that the the RN (Le Pen) was refused all banking facilities with any bank in the EU. That is why they had to go outside of the EU and were offered banking facilities by a Russian bank.

Then she said that France "gamed the system" by stopping illegals crossing from Italy. Well, Schengen doesn't apply to them, they have no freedom to cross borders. I'm British, living in France with permanent status. I have no right to avail myself of free travel across Europe because I, like the illegals, am not a citizen of an EU country. I have to produce my passport and have a limited stay imposed.

I think a lot of people are sick of all the nonsense! Common sense approach is needed in a lot of places..

This is the very best place to listen to sensible nuanced discussions. Excellent hosts and well versed guests, with no agenda pushing. Thanks Unherd 🙏🏼

I hope they do the right thing to stop mass illegal immigration and not hurt hard-working, skilled expats coming to study, research, and work.

I think that public broadcasting and the media in general in Germany contributed greatly to the election turning out this way. In Germany, freedom of expression is now so restricted that reasonable discussions are no longer possible. Rather, anyone who deviates from the mainstream must expect to suffer professional and personal damage. A secret ballot is an excellent way to express one's discomfort with government and media patronage.

Belgian PM resigned too.
It is really quite something to see the political winds change direction so abruptly, it isn't just Belgium.
What I saw beginning a year ago has really picked up pace.

If these changes are surprising you then it is because the Legacy Media have not been telling you the extent of the many protests across several countries over the last few years, not the scale of them, not the frequency, not their multiple causes and different inspirations/messages...

Farmers have been protesting across the EU, including in Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands...

They haven't shown you the violence either, that done by the 'New Europeans', the extent of the demographic changes, and the frustration with the authorities. They have also Memory-Holed endless acts or attempts/plans at jihad💥

This has been going on since before Brexit.
In 17 Oct 2010 Merkel said "Attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have utterly failed."
And then it was 2015 which started with mass sex+assaults in Cologne and then August came and Merkel invited everyone and chose to keep open borders. Nine days later she closed them. All down the Memory Hole...
Don't Look Back in Anger but "here remember slavery two hundred years ago and never stop talking about it" and exaggerating and lying etc.

Don't worry though good people, look at the data infographic about terrorism in EU, these citizens aren't 'Far-Right', they just aren't globalist, they aren't Marxists, and they want to keep their culture and ways and high-trust societies.
They have no ideas for expansionism, they are against The Big State (not you France), they are against the wedding of Globalist Corporatism and Big Politic.
They are you and me and they think like most people do about their homeland and countries, from Thailand, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Argentina, Japan, whatever, most people don't want Global Homogenisation and Global Government.
Fuck U to Globohomo isn't 'Far-Right'.
Don't let them gaslight us all.

The position on the war in Ukraine in Germany isn't isolationism, it's recognizing that a Europe without an at least neutral relationship with Russia cannot be peaceful. What will need to be addressed in the long run is the question of whether the historically grown regions in Europe might be more important than the relatively young ones across the Atlantic, especially in light of North Stream I. How does it go? If you have friends like that, you don't need enemies?
Also, it isn't forgotten that the war in Ukraine could have been over after roughly six months, there already was a peace treaty both Selensky and Putin had more or less agreed upon. It was Boris Johnson's "We do not want peace at this time!" that perpetuated this madness.

"Right" 😂 You mean, centrist, commonsense realist quite majority. It's a sick joke how woke these countries and societies have become over decades.

Take off your redundant "Left vs Right" spectables and look at events through "Establishment (globalist elites) Vs Anti-Establishment (nationalist populace)" spectacles.
It makes a lot more sense then.
When most of the major parties in Europe serve neo-liberal business interests, what options do ill-served voters have?
