This story also implies that Mani, the woman who tasked us with the quest is a descendant of that man, making her part of a half-pokémon blood lineage

There's also a woman in the Sun and Moon demo who openly admitted to having a Machamp for a boyfriend.

Was the wife a Froslass who left after the man broke his promise?

Or just offended because her husband told her she looked like a monster?

The world may never know…

Fun fact: In the original DP in Canalive town, it’s library to be precise, is stated in Japanese that man and Pokémon actually married back then. This of course led to the other countries, unfortunately, to censor that in some way, but the fact that Legends, after 15 years from the original, made it canon worldwide means a win for the original writers of the 4 gen.
Legends is truly, after BW 1/2 and even SV (only the story though in that regard), the first title after many years that truly wanted to be something new, mature and fresh and boy i’m happy to see people actually being satisfied with this product. Another Gen 5 unjustified rage against this title could have been the worst thing to ever happen, luckilly the internet and the people changed and welcomed this title with love and hope for the future of a franchise that struggles to show its fullest of potentials.

If that Froslass in BDSP is the same as the one in PLA, I wonder if it gives you the Spell Tag as a gift because it remembers you. Since the PLA protag is just the BDSP protag after their adventure.

"I got it all on my capture card" and "never tell your wife she looks like someone else." Got me.

I feel like the reason there's psychic humans in the pokemon world is because psy type pokemons are usually humanoids.
It explains so many type of trainers too like mountainclimbers who are all just naturally good at climbing, or like fighters who are waaaay stronger that our real life fighter and they can use fighting CT etc etc

You know, I'd believe Froslass' dex entry a whole lot more if it were it's own pokemon and not evolve from Snorunt.

Once again the theory of:
"The humans of the pokemon world are (probably normal type) pokemon themselves, but don't consider themselves pokemon. (Kind of like how most of humanity doesn't consider themselves to be animals, or to have "ascended past that title") With this in mind, they can and have been proven to form relationships (yes romantic ones) with pokemon, and can create either pokemon, or human eggs/babies together."
is given more evidence...
Why they don't do that in the modern era is unknown, but it might have something to do with how pokemon society's focus has shifted from living and surviving with pokemon in harmony, to encouraging the youths to go on rite of passage adventures as trainers, possibly to become champion or just to complete their dexes. Who can say?

I love stories like this, it gives the games/shows/world a feeling of maturity and wonder. If only the could do more of these.

I love Japanese folklore so when I discovered this side quest, I was really happy ^^ Such an obvious reference to the exact legend of the Yo-Kai that inspired Froslass is crazy to me.

Also I will watch that anime. I was looking for something to watch actually. And if it has Yo-Kai in it, then it's likely to be super interesting.

In fact, the Yuki Onna is one of my favorite Yo-Kai, one of them is even the main character of my story involving Yo-Kai. I can tell more about it if some of you are interested.

Oh yeah also, some of you may think that marrying Pokemon is weird, but there's that book in Canalave City's library that says it was a common occurence in a distant past. After all, Humans and Pokemon are much closer as a species than it seems.

Humans can likely have Eggs with some Pokemon depending on the Egg Group, since nobody ever a saw a Pokemon lay an Egg, it's likely that a strong bond between the two lovers are the only thing necessary

And Arceus is the one sending them an Egg if that's the case, since he's seen creating an Egg in the Sinjoh Ruins event, and that's the only time an Egg is ever seen being created in all of Pokemon's known history.

Though the man who wrote the journal likely remarried since the baby that comes out of the Egg is the same species as the female, and if Mani was actually a descendant of the Froslass, she wouldn't be a human but a Snorunt.

Well unless Froslass had a son with the author who married a human as well but that doesn't seem very likely. But the Snorunt we see in the side quest may actually be the children of the author though.

Pokemon human marriage is such an interesting concept to me because in the Library text it's say's Pokemon were originally seen as human and some Pokemon are definitely more human like in form or intelligence
While legends Arceus shows us some Pokemon even actively seek relationships with humans like froslas

In the anime there is a Ninetales that tries to get with Brock. I think pokemon getting with humans is probably pretty common in the lore.

I like the implication that not only is the PLA protag Dawn/Lucas after they've completed their DPPt/BDSP journey, but that they're the originator of their own bloodline that's passed through the ages of Hisui/Sinnoh to produce the end result of Dawn/Lucas again. A closed time and blood line loop, created by God (Arceus). This Froslass gets to witness it from the outside, and essentially sees the same person twice in two different time periods, in two separate times of their lives.

I'll bet that Froslass had the trippiest time trying to reconcile what she sees and knows of humans with how this one kid existed in two different times hundreds of years apart.

Honestly it's a funny reference to yokai myth of yuki onna charming wanderings men. Just strange in Pokemon though if it wasn't constantly referenced people married pokemon

“No, you’re not him”

Also on a semi related note, looks like the books in the canalave library where s man slept with a woman in the past wasn’t about gardevoir, but about frosslass

Now it makes sense why Joker caught Lopunny. He’s actually an old Sinnoh citizen from thousands of years ago.

DUDE! how have you forgotten in ultra S&M there is an island where the people are getting replaced with dittos. The end of that sidequest ends ominously
