My 18 year old son was excited about this change at steak n shake here in Ohio. My father in law quickly stopped him and said "yeah, it's called lard kid. It was giving people heart attacks when i was a kid, too. Don't get too excited..."😂

This story reveals perfectly why Canada does not want US processed food into our market - the industry does whatever it wants with virtually no (less by the day) regulatory oversight. This "freedum" makes money for corporations and health problems for the society. Canadians with universal healthcare can't afford the health costs of a corporate-run food chain.

All Fast Food Fries had been fried in Beef Tallow until the early 1990’s. They came to the restaurants pre fried in large bags. The restaurant would then give them a second fry. To get a good crisp on the outside and a soft inside, fries should get 2 visits in the deep fryer.
For many years some people asked for the Fast Food industry to fry in vegetable oils partially for health reasons and religious reasons.
