Remember how there wasn't an official version of this for like three years? Just the Oswin Pond version and some other unofficial ones...

it's been like ten years and i only just realized this has the Gallifrey theme in it, but in 3/4 which is the heart beat of a Time Lord

silly universe. The more I save it, the more it needs saving. You're right, they'll get it all wrong without me. Well, I guess one more lifetime won't kill anyone. Well, except me. You hold on a minute Doctor. Let's get it right. I have some things to say to you, basic stuff first. Never be cruel, never be cowardly, and never ever eat pears! Remember, hate is always foolish, but love is always wise. Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind. And one more thing. You must never let anyone hear your name. They wouldn't understand it, anyway. Except children. When the stars are aligned and their hearts are in the right place, children may know your name. Run fast, love hard, be kind. Doctor... I let you go."

“There’s this emperor and he asks The Shepherd’s Boy “How many seconds in eternity?” and The Shepherd’s Boy says “There’s this mountain of pure diamond it takes an hour to climb it and an hour to go around it. Every hundred years, a little bird comes and sharpens its beak on the diamond mountain and when the entire mountain is chiseled away, the first second of eternity will have passed.”
You might think that’s a hell of a long time, personally I think that’s a hell of a bird.”

This is Murray Gold’s equivalent to Ravels Bolero in the way you have a simple beautiful melody that repeats over and over starting out with only a couple of instruments but adding a few more each time it repeats building up to a brilliant crescendo with the whole orchestra. ❤❤

Truly Murray's magnum opus...at least, so far!

This is the best track im the show's history but I never want Gold to use it im the show again. It's so thematically tied to specific themes from Moffat's run if it's just plugged in at some point in the 60th specials It'll feel so cheap

ROFLMAO THEY CUT THIS SHORT BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL VERSION WAS TOO LONG (they think it's too long? imagine how the Doctor felt!!)

Personally, I think that's one hell of an anniversary remaster.

It referenced shepherd's boy before heaven sent even happened. True music gold on Murray's part.

"This time there's 3 of us"

"Personally that's one helluva bird"

"Run fast, be kind. Doctor, I let you go"

(yes technically DOTD used a slightly different piece but similar none the less)

The vocals at the end make this so much better

Nunca me cansaré de escucharla, es de esas obras maestras que te sacan una lagrima y sonrisa a la vez, ¡grande Murray!, ¡te extrañábamos! 💙💙

at last we are here, my favorite piece of music in all of doctor who, Heaven Sent is my favorite episode and them using this during the regeneration scene made me cry at the time and every single time I have heard it since... including now

Awesome, thank you for cutting your version normally, without applause and a sudden cut off on ending, like other version

Mate I cannot wait for this. All the music. The episodes. The intense atmosphere

Something's wrong with the mix. The strings are getting buried in the middle. Violins are practically screaming at the top of their lungs starting at 2:49 and even more at 3:43, but you can barely hear them over the brass

It's actually starting to make me mad how much this orchestra butchered these incredible arrangements
