As a german I have to say, that Faber Castell might not be the best brand but they're pretty good and I love most of the stuff I've tried...about them being overpriced: they might be in the US idk but since they're made in germany they're actually pretty cheap, one colored pencil is less than 2€ and it's generally very affordable

RoseArt: The definition of God Tier just for being the gateway to actual art for so many of us. Way to go with the ratings on that one!

There is a german brand called Staedtler and it's literally AMAZING that I highly recommend it ... it's mostly known for the high quality graphite pencils which are definitely the BEST

The funniest and most ironic (most tragic?) part of the Bob Ross thing is that he wasn't even the one who invented that painting technique! In the very first ever episode of The Joy of Painting, he tells you who taught him. It was Bill Alexander! How can Kowalski sue someone for using Bill Alexander's technique?

Glad you called out the BR thing. That man is the reason I paint, he will always be in my heart but watching capitalism sink its teeth into him the last few years has been eating me up inside. He and his family deserve so much better. (Side note: watching them do the same to Kahlo has also been hell for me.)

Thank you for bringing awareness to the Bob Ross brand. Bob Ross is such an icon and what they did to him and HIS brand is horrible. And most people want to support Bob Ross because of him and don't know how truly disgusting the people behind the Bob Ross brand are. This is a brand that I'm very adamant about not supporting. EVER.

It kills me a little inside that Faber-Castell didn’t make it to a slightly higher category 😭😭

But this was so fun! I love seeing how you rank everything and agree with so much of this.

I’m impressed you were able to summarize your thoughts on an entire brand so well. I would struggle with indecisiveness like crazy with a video like this! I’d need 50 subcategories and different award systems 🫠

In Germany Faber Castell is like Crayola in the US. Most known for school supplies and not widely known as an art supply brand. They just also happen to have really good artist grade supplies. So I think your ranking is justified. And I love the Polychromos :)

The Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils are straight up GOD TIER for me! I've tried so many other w.c. pencils and just nothing compares, ever.

Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils should be in a category in themselves in " God Tier".
They are so good, highly pigmented and mix well. I just love love, love, love using these

Rae, I love you, but Rose Art needs to be in dumpster fire tier 😢🤣 and my beloved liquitex 😭 I kinda want to do a tier list now 👀 or bring back Rose Art as an actually decent art supply brand hah

The one thing I love about Copics that put them into God Tier for me is that that nibs are replaceable and the alcohol inks are refillable. In a time where we have so many one use Items, I'd gladly pay extra for copic.

I love the Faber-Castelle pencils for final details cause of their hard led that can be sharpened to such perfection (except the white one... the white is garbage). But, by far my most favourite colored pencils are Derwent Lightfast and Derwent Drawing (so much that I'm almost insulted you haven't included them hahaha) and everything else I tried from them is great. So perhaps in the future give them a go :)

This was a really insightful review of the products, I think the only one I disagree with is Faber Castel. Their Albrecht drurer water colour pencils are incredible and I love their pitt artist pens, they use sustainable materials and have such a great variety.

If Jazza could source every single alcohol based marker ever to compare then you could totally make a tier list of every single art supply brand. I have faith. And I would absolutely watch that 20 hour video don’t tempt me like that.

I really appreciate that your God tier brands weren't just the fancy artist quality brands, and that you too accessibility into account!

I had no idea that RoseArt was discontinued, but that explains why I haven't seen it in a while. Honestly, I'm going to miss those crayons with the weird waxy film and the terrible scissors that break apart way too easily.

Oh RoseArt hahahah we used to make candles using RoseArt at Girl Scout camp outs because they were so cheap and waxy and they had all the colors and some pretty cool ones like the glitter ones.

I love love love polychromos, they're my favorite brand of pencils. When you said "they're the oldest" and I saw your expression, I was like "DO NOT SAY FABER-CASTELL".😂I have tried like several brands of pencils including prismacolor premier, polychromos are my favorite, they do not have any of the problems I have experienced with prismacolor. Faber-castell is my go to for art supplies.

As an artist that uses Sharpies with watercolor, I'm happy about the God Tier place. Once you get used to using them and how bold they are. Sharpies blend so beautifully with one another just *chef's kiss*
They really bring the best out in watercolor when layered over top (at least with my style.)
