What a good speedo, i wish other automakers do it where the speed builds up per 1 kmh, it gives a reals sensation of speed when even the speedo freaks out. Like the mustang gt500, such a smooth speedo

Sounds amazing, seems like the gearing on the newer s1000rr is abit longer than the older ones, my first gear only did 150kmh. Is it just me or is the shift cam sound actually noticeable?

0:14 First gear to 160 kph, in real money terms 100 mph.

So much more fun in the 70’s where 3rd gear at 9, 000 rpm on my old GS750 was 90mph.

The moral of that short story is with 69hp you could wring its neck on a regular basis and not be locked up by the rozzers in an instant.

Although VASCAR caught me in ‘77 at 103mph (indicated 105mph on the speedo - I was impressed by its accuracy) down the local motorway. That was a £50 fine back in the day - a lot of money for an 18 year old.

You might have guessed I won’t be buying a 1000RR.
