Jesus man this concept is so fucking sad, like the idea of growing older and randomly hallucinating your dead high school friend who committed suicide, combined with the guilt you feel from the last interaction you had with that person before taking their own life. I can't imagine the overwhelming weight on their subconscious just constantly thinking about how things could've turned out differently. How miserable.

Honestly smth I feel like no one talks abt is the terrible influence Nicole has on most of the characters. Like in almost every character’s problem in the story Nicole might not have started it but she’s always somewhat involved and shows no empathy for anything because every terrible thing she does is intentional. The story makes that a clear in the beginning by highlighting a moment in time before she became a terrible person and she was blamed for a circumstance that had absolutely nothing to do with her, her dad’s death. While the story shows it off as some funny thing but it’s the underlying tone that despite all the bad things that ppl have blamed her for she still is a terrible person in and out and shows no remorse for it
