Diablo 3 - Why Blizzard Nerfed The Hellfire Ring

You're forgetting one thing though; the Hellfire ring is account bound AND doesn't have a level requirement. So when you create a new character, you can throw the ring on and when it procs for 25k damage, that's pretty OP at low levels as well as the EXP % boost.

That's really the only reason to get it now though, so if you can make one, then keep it for levelling scrub toons.

also guys remember that the hellfire ring is account bound, which means that if you get a similiar or lousier ring than your curent one than you just wasted all your time because you cant sell it anyway

gold pick up radius is great for speed farming, also good for a certain WD build.

just thinking about how much time you need to put in to get one ring. it will be hard to get a good roll, so 150 str, crit, aspd, crit damage most likely not happen.

very true :D, i guess the proc would either HAVE to be nerfed as it was, or removed totally, but then that removed the characteristics of the ring, it just becomes an heirloom (sorry for the wow term) ring

Did you even watch the video?, he agreed that it needed a nerf. Believe it or not it is actually possible to balance a game. Blizzard's mission should have been to nerf the ring to the point of making it still a BiS and thus making farming 5 hours of Uber bosses worth it. However they have nerfed it to the point of it being useful at all.This means the major part of the patch is wasted effort. A quick example of a possible balance could be that the proc would scale from 1-70% of your equipment.

The Ring is pretty strong atm i think. Leoric's Signet was used by a lot of players to get Paragon. So they just made a Ring which can be pretty awesome if u get best rolled. Like tri force + allres. As u said the chance to get this Ring is nearly 0. But this makes Diablo 3 endgame. So u are motivated to farm Uber Level to get one of this awesome ring.

Wait werent new craftable rings coming in 1.07 with guaranteed stats? Then there would be no reason anymore for ubers, or am I missing something?
