With all do respect that paddle is for beginners and only for flat water not costal water. You need a full carbon fiber blade for intercoastal water....You Will be buying a full carbon fiber paddle in the have that paddle and the handle broke off on me in the middle of a alligator infested river...there is no reason to use your paddle to push off of rocks. I have broken fiber Glass paddles I have broken nylon blades I have a shed full of broke sup paddles...full carbon fiber is the only way to go
