From the movie: GOOD NEWS 1947
Totally politically incorrect and totally great fun. Joan McCracken and Ray McDonald had at least three things in common. They were both very talented, they both appeared on film way too seldom and sadly they both died young, Joan at 43 and Ray at 38.

She was amazing. I just saw Good News tonight, an MGM musical that was heavy on music numbers, but short on plot. She was in a supporting role -- the leads were June Allyson and Peter Lawford -- but hers was the stand out performance in the film. I was curious to find out more about her. Sadly she died young, only 43. She was married to Bob Fosse before he married Gwen Verdon, and she was an instrumental force in shaping his career. Bad health plagued her. She suffered from both diabetes and heart disease.

Is there any way we can find out the names of some of the other dancers? Joan and Ray are absolutely amazing in this number! But the other dancers are quite wonderful as well.

This song was originally planned for "Ziegfeld Follies" with Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. They chose to go with "The Babbitt and the Bromide" instead.

I don’t get what’s “politically incorrect” about this?
