Moondrop x Crinacle Dusk REVIEW - The Daywalker

What happens when you take my favorite earphone, and let the world's most experienced earphone reviewer tweak it? You get the Moondrop x Crinacle Blessing 2: Dusk. I've spent a week with it, comparing it to the original. These are my thoughts.

I own the Blessing 2 and have really enjoyed their sound signature. However, I was thinking of trading up to the Thieaudio Monarch or Clairvoyance. Yes, the bass on the Blessing 2 is a bit weak, thus the reason for the Dusk, but for $320, the Blessing 2 is worthy of all its praise. So, before I sold my Blessing 2 in order to spend up for one of the Thieaudio cans, I decided to do some tip rolling. I tried numerous foam and silicon tips; I will spare you all the details of each experience. But using Spinfit CP100 tips with proper insertion and fit (XL for my ears) changed my Blessing 2 IEMs dramatically from stock. I now have deep but clean and balanced bass to go along with detail and tonality. I now have saved myself a bunch of money as for me, my modified Blessing 2s are extremely satisfying and a keeper.

To this day, my favorite fr is still a Hexa with a 250 hz ish Dusk mid bass scoop

Finally got a B2:Dusk after getting sidetracked with other IEMs.

I think people exaggerate the fit issues, managed to get a good fit with small CP100, these are still definitely bigger than many IEMs and will give some people fit issues.

Edit: Tried the stock tips, zero issues with the fit.

As for the sound, it's no surprise why people go bananas over the Dusk: It's extremely inoffensive with good techs though I'm not sure if I love it like most people, I think my bias towards a meatier mid bass is getting me here.

That being said, there is no doubt that the Dusk is extremely well tuned and will appeal to most people like pizza and french fries.

By the way, it's not called Moondrop x Crinacle Dusk as the title, it is Moondrop Blessing 2: Dusk. The newer one released in 2024 is called exactly like the title.

an odd request :D might you be able to measure the metal face plate in width and length please. just with a rule if you don't have any callipers. would super helpful. i'd really like to get a good idea of how they'd fit my outer ear as well as canal(6.5mm) before making purchase. thank you :)

I’ve had these over a year now. Unfortunately I just can’t find the “magic” in them everyone else does. I’ve tried tip rolling, different tip sizes, insertion depth etc. The best result so far is using the small spinfit tips with deep insertion. I’m sure they’re amazing IEMs compared to most at this price but honestly I’m ready to try something different.

I just got the original B2, definitely a tier above Kato and Hana 2021. But having a dedicated 10mm DD for bass is a bit thin for me. Maybe a 10% boost would be great. I think the upper mid on the B2 is perfect for the genre I listen to. I am just afraid the dusk will lower the upper mid quantity too much.

Based on Crinacle and your thorough review I decided on these over custom in-ears which would have been double the cost. I've only listened with them for a few minutes but I have to say these are pleasant - stunning in fact. My challenge is to get - and keep - a tight seal as I'll be using these as monitors while playing an instrument. Can you tell me the name of the replacement tips you prefer?

Thanks a lot for this great review! Thinking about upgrading from my FIIO FH3 which I really like as good allrounders. I like the bass of the FH3, do you think the bass of the Dusk 2 would disappoint me when coming from and liking the FH3 bass?

How chunky is stem on the Dusk?

I own the Volume (Which has a near identical shell.) can wear the Volume fine but this is probably because the stem on the Volume is much thinner, my earholes are on the smaller side btw.

Gonna buy the Dusk next month and leave the IEM buying spree for now. IEM hoarding is too expensive LOL, I'll be down like $2, 300 spent on IEMs with the Dusk bought if I take this route.
