This is another way of artificially nerfing stuff. First it was the F-14s, then it was the Mig-29, then it was the SU-27, then it’s the RWRs. And what really doesn’t make sense is that more all these planes, they could easily be among the best of the best, but they’re nerfed because of Gaijin’s way of putting them into the game. The guarantee if the F-14 wasn’t added prematurely and gimped it’d be a lot less disliked among the community and the F-14A would easily be 13.3. Same with the Mig-29. If they didn’t get the 27ER and instead got R73s without IRCCM (like the magic 2 had at the same time) they would be in a much better place in the game. But nope. They all had their flight models nerfed. Typical Gaijin.

The developers changed their minds and accepted my report on this topic, answering that RWR systems will be able to detect more modern radars. quote: “Good afternoon.” Almost immediately after the dev server was closed, we made changes to the upcoming RWR edits, and when the patch is released, top-level aviation RWR, which are able to identify specific targets and could receive updates to threat libraries, will be able to identify even the newest targets.
Of course, the limitations of specific RWRs on detection still apply, that is, if the RWR cannot detect radiation, then it will not be able to identify the source.

Speaking of RWRs, Italian F104S and ASA can't detect J band. So the Mig 23mld and equivalents at the same (and in ASA's case LOWER BR) have better radars, better turning, comparable mid to high level acceleration, better top speed, they can mount radar missiles without sacrificing the gun and now they can also lock on to you without your RWR ever notifying you. Oh and they don't have the stupid Aspides that the Chinese players also know how bad they are at holding locks.

The fact that these RWRS are completely programmable is common knowledge yet gaijin still refuses to acknowledge it is just mind blowing to me. When this hits live people will make a huge stink about it mark my words. Gaijin has ignored proof that they are wrong and completely denied that it exists. Most people don’t pay attention to the dev server, so when this goes live it’s going to be very entertaining watching people figure out that gaijin fucked up big time. There will be a lot of angry forum users lol

I've got a better idea, NATO planes can correctly identify radar signals of NATO aircrafts, whilst SPO-32 can only do that for Russian/Chinese jets. The rest will be "?"
