I got board with being frugal because Im low income and was sick for 6 months and it just became a burden, where as before it was a fun challenge to get through each month.
Im still frugal but I eat more cake and walk my dog more instead of being miserable. 😂
Im so glad you are going to explore your own back yard, thats my plan to.
I climbed a small local mountain with my son and now I'm ready for more adventures.
My big goal would be one day to walk the UK.😊

You really did better than you think. You obviously were struggling emotionally after your dad died, but you did such a positive thing in focusing on your health in the summer and still being really quite frugal. You most likely did better than you think you did. This year, you were going through the grieving process with the loss of your dad. That takes a lot out of you. You've now gone through all the firsts. You did well! Just hearing you say to embrace life shows you've come a long way. 2025 has to be better!

Hey Stu! You did really well in 2024. You lost your Dad and were grieving - give yourself a bit of space, man! What would you say to a best friend in that situation? Or when that friend was looking back on 24? Say it to yourself, now!
Re going away in the UK. I have used, and joined Travelodge- you get offers of rooms at £30ish per night. Not the prettiest but very functional. But then I also treat myself to rooms in hotels with stars once a year. Joining their mailing list shows you their cheapest times. Will be very interested to see where you visit!!
