Having Sec+ will get you government recruiter's attention more than A+ I believe. I failed A+ twice as well and got an AS in IT then Sec+. Ended up securing an internship at a federal contract org that sponsored my clearance and got promoted to compliance specialist this past Spring. I am living proof that can corroborate what Deangelo spoke of.

Is the Federal clearance the same as the one you need to be a TSO? I applied to work for TSA but they took almost s year to complete the process. By that time I was working a state givens job with comparative benefits and better salary. Will my TSA clearance still be good? I got approved last year in March. I could have taken a job with TSA technically until March this year.
