How to Open or Recover VirtualBox VDI Disk Files to Copy Your Files to Another Computer

If you need to access an Oracle VirtualBox VDI virtual machine disk file to get your files off of it, then it's a very easy process even without having VirtualBox installed on your computer. Normally you can mount a VDI file to a VM and access your data that way, but an even easier method is to use another app such as 7-Zip to get to your disk image (.img) files and then copy your data from there to your computer. If you need to recover a corrupt VDI disk file, then you can try a program called DRS VDI Recovery.
