IF YOU FEEL LIKE THERE ARE TOO MANY ADS, READ THIS:

I don't control the ad frequency on these videos. Once these started doing numbers, YouTube automatically started putting ads on 'em. And because of copyright claims, none of the money is going to me anyway.

I apologize if your viewing experience was hampered by the frequency, I totally understand, and if I could control it, there would definitely be less ads. But because I can't at the moment, I will say this with all sincerity:

Download an adblocker.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the videos.

Gosh 2000-2012 was such an epic decade for movies. The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Narnia, the MCU, Spiderman, X-Men, Harry Potter. It was a childhood I will never forget. I wish I could relive it.

1:22:40 Chris Evans covering his mustache he had grown for another movie is some of the hilarious shit I used to love about marvel movies. I felt like every movie had random things that were either improvised or worked around that made things hilarious. I'm surprised the whole Iron Man 1 being majorly improvised thing wasn't explored upon.

I think a lot of the newer Marvel fans don’t realize how impossible that first Avengers seemed for those of us who were around to witness it happen in real time, I remember all of my friends thinking there was no way they could pull it off and yet they did. How far we’ve come

Iron Man still ranks as one of the best Superhero origin movies ever made. Great story, great cast, kept a lot of elements from the comic book origin. When I saw the Mark I suit in the previews I knew it was going to be awesome.

You know what I like best about Phase 1? Every movie is different. They all look different, they all feel different and the main characters all sound different.
But as the 'phases' went on the movies all started to become very samey. Even the characters who are all supposedly different people with different backgrounds and motivations all get essentially the same voice. They're all quippy and sarcastic gold-hearted people. Basically everyone became Tony Stark to some degree. It's kind of awful.

What they did with Hawkeye was actually had to give him a motivation to fight as well as show him as a badass who almost brought down the whole was like impressed with him when I first saw the movie

What I think people tend to forget, is that Thor and Iron man 2 were only really OK retroactively. When I saw them for the first time I thought they were pretty darn good!

John Favreau's development of, and attention to, continuity is a gem of story telling. No one thought Tony Stark or Ahsoka Tano would have gotten to such a great end point of their characters

Holy crap I can't even begin to imagine the amount of time it took to make this series but I'm grateful cause it's 1000% worth it

It’s funny how that Jeff bridges line aged so well, Marvel made Iron Man with scraps and gambles which through a one in a million chance led to a chain of events that resulted in characters like Iron Man, Black Panther and Namor becoming names that everyone and their mom knew, even if they didn’t read comics.

Excellent. Thank you for this. An important note that was left out; “The First Avenger” was a title used intentionally in foreign territories, namely China, to preempt any potential backlash of anti-American sentiment given that the lead character was named “Captain America”.

I was a teenager during phase 1, and was already a comic nerd. I cannot explain the emotions I felt as these movies came out and Avengers inched closer and closer. The first Avengers movie is still the most magical theater experience I’ve ever had, because until I saw it, it seemed like an impossible feat.

I was a kid when all this happened and I grew up with these movies, but it’s interesting to see how people and the internet reacted to the MCU compared to now

1:22:50 People talk about them eating shawarma, but I want those employees. Right out of an intergalactic alien invasion and right back to the job, such dedication 😍

As an editor and filmmaker …hats off. Phenomenal work. Thank you for the constant audio changes that help carry every movie you introduce.

"THEY WERE GONNA DO IT AGAIN, HAHA!". That was the best part of this 🤣. The actual hype in that sentence is palpable

Prime, you probably don't know this, but Hulk being a failed attempt at creating a super soldier is from the long dead Ultimates line in Marvel Comics.

The Ultimates lines was an attempt in 2001 to give a separate and modern brand of comics for then young readers to follow. There was Ultimate Hulk, X-Men, Avengers, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and so on. And yeah they changed some origin stories here and there like Hulk's for example.

Also side note the Ultimates line is how we got black Nick Fury. The character was made in Samuel L. Jackson's likeness with his permission.

The thing that still blows my mind after all these years, is that they started with Iron Man, who, in the comics, has never been one of their top-sellers. You're talking about gambles a lot, but that was, by far, their biggest one. Probably incited by the fact that their AAA-listers (mainly Spider-Man and the X-Men) were in the hands of other studios.
Crazy when you think about it.
