Polish police will use 'sonic cannons' as part of their crowd control techniques at the Euro 2012 championships this summer. The sound cannon, or Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD), is a non-lethal weapon that blasts concentrated beams of sound measuring around 150 decibels distances of up to 500m, inducing discomfort, aural pain and headaches in its targets.
