Crocodile is such a great character. Oda could have left him as just the villain of his arc, despite being really good on that role he really shines more outside of it. He came for Whitebeard's head, yet he feels angry and even insulted that the man who defeated him got hurt in such a pathetic way. He has such great moments this arc.

After that event, crocodile was burning inside cause the marines didn't have the guts to take down WB from the front, and while it's true he lost to WB and Luffy and even holds some grudge, you can tell that he respects them, that is why Croco-boy went on a rampage and went after marines after that. he saved Ace from execution, saved Luffy not once, but two times, against Mihawk, and the second one was very critical where both Luffy and Jinbie were about to be killed from Akainu. So much respect for crocodile after this arc. Not only he participated, but he made a good mark on the war despite the fact he was a villain that was taken down very early in the story. Which again emphasize good writing by Oda and prove his point that he doesn't like when people talk ill about his characters like saying they are weak, so he makes them get back stronger

Wow, this just shows some of the anger crocodile has for whitebeard, many people have been making theorys of crocodile was once a crew mate of whitebeard but i personaly think crocodile just lost his left hand to whitebeard and maybe got that scar on his face too, since then he allways had a grudge against him.

after this i really respect and understood crocodile very well
1- first he wanted to become great pirate and then his dream was destroyed by Whitebeard
2- second he wanted to rule the alabasta and then his dream was destroyed by Straw hat… (plot armor)

People are saying this is crocodiles way of showing respect for whitebeard but I see it as totally different. To me, this the point where crocodile realizes he no long has an interest in killing whitebeard, he was so disappointed that the untouchable, invincible whitebeard gets stabbed, even Marco says it's true, that whitebeard medical condition and age caused whitebeard to be so easily stabbed like that without noticing, pretty much, crocodile saw how weak whitebeard became now. He even says after saving ace, he can kill that old dying buzzard later. But to some degree crocodile is acknowledging whitebeard was alot stronger when he fought him in the past. Definitely disappointed he isnt worth his time anymore
