"Is not a religious class!" The class has Religion as Skill Class.

"Monks aren't religious"

'Monastic tradition'

"I can't believe you're so into this!!" My brother in Christ, you literally invited me over for this.

That sounds like OP's buddy kind of wanted a babysitter or someone to shoulder the burden of watching over them.

Any class can be religious even if they don't draw power from a deity. Like in real life people don't pick a god to worship for sick powers but rather for spiritual reasons...

Well some people might

...are...are monks not allowed to make personal choices? Yeah the CLASS isn't religious, but a single monk can't be? The heck, dude.

The judgment over... having 1.5 sets of dice... is so odd.

I haven't even gotten around to actually playing D&D yet (the whole "needing to find several other people who also want to play" thing makes it complicated) and I still own two sets of dice. Would have three, if I was able to find the set I got years ago when I was in high school.

I dont get why people act like dnd is a children's game, its sort of like saying anime is for kids. Sure some anime is for kids, but I wouldn't let my 7 year old sister watch Elfen Lied for example. It sort of all depends on the dnd game for if its allowed for kids or not.

Any character of any class can be religious if they wish to be. It's not like you have to be a paladin, cleric, or warlock to be religious. I had a draconic sorcerer who worshipped Bahamut, because he was that big into his draconic heritage.

Haha. I have dice in every metal I could find. Copper, brass, steel, magnesium, vanadium, tungsten, silver and gold. A few of the weren’t exactly cheap.

I would have left the moment I saw it was all kids.

Hell I have been known to leave when there is one kid.

I would have looked at the kids and asked, "Is this a joke?" then turned on my heel and left.

Speaking of mice I have a cordless one and I lost the little USP chip to stick in the laptop. I don't know when I don't know how. I of course didn't know this until DnD night when there wasn't enough of us to play so we did a chill stream and played a game that I would do better with a mouse than the touch pad (I tried, it was sad, I was sad.) I looked in on the stream as the others played and replied to roleplays I was in and worked on a story I was writing about a Guardian Angel in training trying to keep an alcoholic guy tending to get into trouble, from, well, *dying.*

Would make an interesting Tabletop kind'a game for Christians if they wanted to get into it but parents there *those* parents. Guardian Angels-in-training protecting people and influencing their decisions through various methods from outright physically grabbing them to whispering thoughts in their ears/minds. So you got your strength rolls, charisma, and such. But if visible you have to find a way to disappear without anyone seeing you do it. So running around a corner, ducking down an alley, etc.

Eh any character can have a religion. >.> So I think the OP really over estimated what he was getting into, like they didn't ask you to bring or think up a character or anything. That said, he became the stick in the mud.

Like it sucks you wanted to play DnD, and got invited to kids pretending what TTRPGs are, but hey if you decided to just go with it instead of fighting the party, might have had some fun... and then ya never go back to that.

OP was focused on his own shame that he forgot abour most important part - it was game for that kids birthday

Heard several stories of anti religious people in dnd. You do realize that everyone in faerun can worship a divinity right? Its called laypeople. Paladins and clerics get powers because they enact that god's ideals more actively in the world(s)...

If you're not a priest you gotta be an atheist.
