What's My FAVORITE Telescope? #shorts

I'm always asked to name which one is my favorite telescope, but they all do have their strengths in what they can do. My list of telescopes include:

1. Celestron RASA (8-inch)
2. Explore Scientific 127MM Refractor
3. Celestron NexStar 8SE
4. Orion ED80T CF

For solar imaging:

5. Explore Scientific AR102 Refractor with DayStar Quark (chromosphere)
6. DayStar Filters Solar Scout SS60-ds

I am so jealous! I bought my first one second hand for $75.00. After 7 years I had to move and gave it to a young man down the street. I had shown him his first look at the moon. The look on his face when I gave it to him made it worth it.

When I was a kid, my dad had a telescope like one you have there. Short and copper colored, without any additional stuff on it.
It's towards the back there. We loved astronomy. That's what I had originally planned to do with my life. But life had other plans.
My dad was a genius and worked in a field that brought amazing tech to my house. But he loved his breaks with the telescope the most. Occasionally, I would still be awake or he'd get me up to see something. He taught me so much about the universe.
My dad disappeared in 1991. No one has any idea where he went. And plenty have tried to find him.
I found his telescope a year later in 92.
My mom wanted to sell it. I snatched it away from the stuff she had all ready to go. I never knew how he made it work. I tried. We didn't have the world wide web to look up a tutorial. Or find a user manual.
But watching your videos reminded me how much I love astronomy still. And all those moments I had with my dad. Thank You. 🙂

I wish I had a strong telescope. When my brother was murdered, one of my friends named a star after him. He left a note that said to look towards Taurus and that he’d always be there. 😞
