This new allrounder is a huge upgrade from Fahim Stokes for Pakistan.
I saw Jamal play for the 1st time for Pakistan in Asian Games ko match where Pakistan were headed for a possible 100 or 115 at best from 20 overs and then Jamal half the side gone with only his fellow bowlers to support.
He smashed 47 from 20 balls in no time like a genuine no#6/#7 hitter.
He was a 1 man army that day & eventually ended with a par score & then even bowled the 2nd fastest ball of the game @145 kph.
Pakistan avoided humiliation and went on to win that quarter final match.
I think I even saw him bowl 149kph in PSL or some domestic match.
Even in the 1st test he was quicker than Shaheen delivering the fastest of the innings @144 Kph which was the quickest ball in terms of speed among the 4 Pakistan seamers.
He looks so good with the bat when he plays his natural hitting game instead of trying to bat defensively which is not his natural game.
Even when he fails with the bat he should be persisted with & back him up by encouraging & allowing him to play his natural attacking game coz he's good enough to play in the 11 even as a bowler alone, so anything apart from that with the bat is a bonus.
He looks like a cleaner, better ball striker than his seam bowling all-rounder competition in the team like Hasan Ali & Fahim Ashraf.
