The Mil Mi-28 is a Russian all-weather, day-night, military tandem, two-seat anti-armor attack helicopter. It is an attack helicopter with no intended secondary transport capability, better optimized than the Mil Mi-24 gunship for the role. It was produced in 1982.

The Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American twin-turboshaft attack helicopter with a tailwheel-type landing gear arrangement and a tandem cockpit for a crew of two. This helicopter was produced in 1983.

I think this comparison is not fair. The most important feature avionics technology, that u have silently skipped.

YOU FORGOT THE MAIN DIFFERENCE. AH-64 has no armour, the Mi-28 is in a steel tub and fully armoured, which is why its heavier and has MORE take off weight, yet you took off a point for that, lol

AH64 - 5.2 tons empty, 10.5 tons laden for a 5.3T load; Mi-28 8.6 tons empty, 11.5 tons laden for a 2.9T load, yet you give the 'win' to the helo with just over half the cargo capacity. I don't think you've thought that all the way through.

So you are telling me that take off weight is an advantage to the russian copter? It weighs 8.5tons and take off weigh is 11 tons vs apache 5ton dry weigh and take off of 10tons. Poor analysis.

Radar, electronics, fire control, and missile capabilities are far more important than speed, power, and carrying capacity. The Apache has better radar, electronics, fire control, and missiles than the Havok. Attack heli's are extremely important so price doesn't matter.

Why did Mi-28 win for armament? The Mi-28's 30mm is superior but the Ah-64 holds 950 more. Plus I see the stingers as an advantage.

Again Unfair comparison. The MI out performce and has more fire power Compared to the Apache. Even American pilots what to buy MI helicopters to train with them. Shows how reliable Soviet/Russian weapons are. Until this day most weapons used are Soviet/Russian.
