Seichin is the fourth kata in the Uechi-ryu System. Students who attain the rank of Gokyu (Adult-green belt, Junior-purple belt) can begin learning this kata. Seichin means ten conflicts. Designed by Saburo Uehara, a student of Kanbun Uechi, in 1963. This kata is the most difficult kyu kata to learn because of the advanced movements that are prevalent in the higher dan (level) katas. By using the techniques learned from Seichin while sparring or fighting, a low ranking student can more easily defend against many higher ranking opponents.

There are many new techniques to be learned in this kata: hiraken hajiki uke, hiraken tsuki, kosoku geri, shukoken, morote gedan nukite, morote shoken kamae, kokutso dachi, morote boshiken tsuki age, hiza ate, koken, hirai sukui uke (hawk chases sparrow block), nekko dachi, shoman hajiki nukite, and hiza ate uke boshiken gamae.
