This is really a gospel song written by Al Green. Listen to the lyric, it's about baptism and redemption. Brilliantly done by Delbert. I'm an atheist but there's no denying this is one of Reverend Al's great compositions. And IMO there is no blue-eyed soul singer to equal Delbert. He's astounding.
