Journey to the Château, Ep. 227 - In this Friday episode, Patrick and Stuart work on the final details for the renovation and restoration of their Chateau Petit Salon. Patrick does a restoration of the antique wall light sconces for over the fireplace mantle. They also sand and refinish the original salon parquet floors using Gilboy's Hard Wax Oil, and then install a new acquisition of a trumeau between the salon windows in its traditional location. Patrick also uses fabric that they purchased in the sales in Paris to create beautiful curtains for the Petit Salon.

Well, guys. I like the way the curtains turned out. Once in place for a few days, they'll fall and lay naturally from their own weight. My personal preference is tiebacks and tassels, because who doesn't like a bit of drama? I like a bit of Louis in my life too, so I'd be at home au Château de XVIIIe siècle.
I am really intrigued by your chapel space. From what you stated as s the age, suggests has likely been the scene of several centuries of incredible history, weddings, christenings, funerals, holy days, and a revolution. Congratulations on getting the relic back. I think I understand the Catholics' reverence for the Saints.
❤ from TX!

Patrick and Stuart, you do such an amazing job on your renovations! Having been there, and seeing the before, it makes the after even more stunning! The petit salon is perfect! PS, after tonight’s night shift, I’m back to working half time. 😃

I concur with everyone's descriptors for the curtains. I like the sidebars-understated and functional. I especially like how the jacquard compliments the wallpaper, not overpowering it. This breakfast room is tres elegante! Perhaps the fig jam needs a silver bowl as a jelly jar is now not quite up to snuff? Ha! Ha! LOVE it all! Yes, Viv's style has captured your home well with words and camera angles. Surely most of us like to see the same celebration from several perspectives. ttfn
