i just watched the movie, and i gotta say: thank god i didn't watch this review before watching the movie
'cause watching the movie without knowing if he's gonna end up guilty or innocent made the movie sooo much better

Yes, you can spoil a movie with telling the story in advance. Just because it's a story based on facts, it's not impervious to spoils. Some random murderer in the US is not known to the rest of the world. Story spoiled. Great job.

I went to see this movie primarily because of Jonah Hill. I agree the movie itself was just so-so, but worth seeing because of the Hill and Jones performances. I kept waiting for a big plot twist, just like most other similar movies. But as you said real life doesn't always work that way. I'm also kinda glad they didn't go for the obvious plot device of the wife being seduced by the psycho killer.The scene when the wife goes to see Franco in jail was the best in the movie.

I wanted to know if the charaters have chemistry, are relatable and evolve. If the script is actually well developed and if its worth watching. I could live with a plot basis but this isnt a review at all. This is some friend talking to me about a movie im not going to watch. Very poor really.

the end is one of the worst i've ever seen and i've seen a lot.
i get it's a true story but that's exactly why you dont pick it to make a movie, it's a bad story 
only the acting make it watchable.
if you're going to watch it please stop 20 min before the end, you'll like it way more
