Relatively recently, multiple reports surfaced about Ridley Scott revealing his insights about the much-anticipated new movie in the Alien franchise.

Fede Álvarez wrote and directed the movie, and out of respect for Ridley Scott's original vision for the franchise, he showed the completed version of the film to Scott for approval.

In a series of discussions, Scott revealed some aspects of the plot and provided his perspective on the film’s direction. Many of us had been eagerly awaiting "Alien Awakening," which was expected to pick up David’s storyline. Contrary to these expectations, it has been announced that an entirely separate feature, titled "Alien Romulus," is set to emerge as the next chapter in the alien franchise. The production of "Alien Romulus" is not only underway but has been completed, despite almost no information about this movie.

For some reason everything about this new Alien installment has been kept in secret. However recently Ridley Scott shared his thoughts on the film. But before diving into that what Ridley said, here's some general context about "Alien Romulus" and everything we know so far about the movie including these major aspects:

Today, we'll cover everything we know so far about the upcoming movie. We'll look at:
• The Release Date
• The Cast
• The Trailer Release Date
• The Plot and The Timeline
• The Role of Engineers
• Ridley Scott's Comments
• Lastly, the Analysis and Predictions of What to Expect.

The movie is set to be released on August 16, 2024, and it received a stamp of approval from Ridley who said that “it’s fu…ing great” in addition to few other things.

One notable detail about Alien Romulus is the young cast, which is unrelated to any characters from previous films in the Alien franchise. Also Sigourney Weaver won’t be returning as Ellen Ripley and she said that “the ship has sailed” on one interview when discussing the possibility of reappearing in another alien film. It is a bit disappointing that Ripley won’t be part of the frachise, on the other hand by having a completely new, young cast the studio might be planning to release multiple movies in the future keeping the same characters.

Scott saying that "It's f*cking great!" means absolutely nothing. If anything, it's even more concerning.

I can still watch the first two over and over and never get bored.

This time, the alien queen is not gonna be dreaming about true love, she's dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be.

I was very worried about David's story not being continued and Disney's involvement in the movie. Now it has reduced all my expectations to almost zero. EDIT: I take back what i said. I really liked the movie. No sjw, no woke. You must definitely watch it."

Xenomorph's reaction to the future of the Alien franchise:
"someone please send me back to the egg!"

I have no faith in Disney doing dark sci-fi any justice… especially if it’s going to be teenagers and no name actors

I’m really upset about David’s story not being continued mostly because Fassbender playing David is one of his best roles. He brings a terrifying presence, even if the writing of the films isn’t a good match for his skill.

I really like him in this genre/universe.

Really hate that they aren’t doubling down and finishing the trilogy. All they needed to do was just make the writing better. Not scrap the project entirely

Very sad that David's story isn't being continued. I was so fascinated by it.

This is why I stay subscribed despite the ultra low upload frequency. Everything you make is worthwhile. I'll happily stay subscribed to a channel that respects it's viewers time.

The engineers and David was such a great storyline.
Fuck.
I’m sad Ridley is ok letting them go.

I really was hopeful we would get to continue David’s arc

Thank you for uploading, Kroft!!! It’s always a great day when you do. Personally, I would die for more scenes regarding the engineers and their culture, but I am at least happy that Scott seems to be happy with the script of Romulus.

I’ve been really bummed for a while that Ridley isn’t finishing the prequel trilogy.

One word scares me more than Aliens did when I watched it as a kid: Disney- Ruiner of Franchises. Aliens and Disney seem like a most contrasting mix; I have little hope. Maybe NECA will make a few new Alien action figures after the movie, that's about all the hope I have for a Disney led Aliens. Sad. Agree with Kroft, at this point and despite the issues with the last two 'aliens' movies, I'd rather see the conclusion of Davids story and more about the Engineers. Sigh.

I understand that Disney has a tendency to disappoint, but they also did a great job with Prey, so hopefully they can keep that streak up.

It's also very sad to realize that we will probably never get any answers about the derelict in the first movie and how/why the f*** the Nostromo was sent to LV4-26 in the first place. What's the story behind that?? We were so close to coming full circle, it's so frustrating...

I just want a film that capture the atmosphere of the first one regardless of the story or characters.
