Car owners are finding parts on back order, leaving dealers unable to make some repairs for months. One option for consumers is going to an independent shop since they have more flexibility on what parts they can use.

I've been waiting 5 months on a transmission control module for my Ford Focus. It's ruined my life because I lost my job of 7 years because I could no longer get back and forth to work. I've been using my credit cards to pay bills to get by and now my almost 800 credit score has dropped down the low 700's. I just hope I can hang on long enough and not loose my apartment and go homeless.

I’m going on 4 months now for an intake manifold for my 2018 F250 I essentially have a $75, 000 paperweight! How is it legal to sell these vehicles without repair parts readily available?

this doesn’t help the people like me who was forced to bring my leased car to the dealer 2 months ago for a fog lamp, and they keep telling me maybe in a week… maybe in a week…. while i pay for this lease and they lose NO money…. all the costs end being passed on to the driver… if i stopped
paying my lease they would take away my car, if they don’t give me my car why can’t i take back my money

A lot of parts have to be programed by the dealer or authorized repair shop, most manufactures only sell the software to the brand dealership.

Lack of Prius 12v batteries as well. Over 8 months of waiting so far. I have to use jumper cables to get around.
