As a 'Sailor', who wasn't always 'Homeward Bound', I would go 'Downtown' having been told 'Don't sleep on the subway darling'. Must have been 'A sign of the times', the 1960s to be precise, when Pet was the ONLY pet a man could ever want! After a heavy, North Atlantic crossing, to know that one was, after a year away from the UK, finally 'Homeward Bound' was music to one's ears! Who better than our Pet to so wonderfully provide!

Great to see Petula in such great command of her crowd literally one and all eating out of her hands. Never did a generation gap close so soon as when she began to entertain ~ remember (or research!) that she had already achieved success as a child star singing in films before she arose to such lofty heights as this graceful pop performer.

It would be great to not always see people maligning the flavor of this day in order to bring her praise. Clearly in her own league so why bother about it? !
