Peace Walker’s theme was upbeat, a theme for a hero. A theme for an action packed story where you make friends, blow up tanks, and fight one on one with an advanced Metal Gear.
Ground Zeroes’ theme is darker, it’s less upbeat. It’s the theme for a story where two children are kept hostage, and abused, to direct you away from your home so it can be destroyed, so almost all of your comrades can be slaughtered. Where you watch a friend die, and then are left critically injured.
The change in tone for the music was a genius decision that shows you that this isn’t going to be the adventure that Peace Walker was.

Amazing sondtrack, i loved when i played this masterpiece for the first time and saw Snake climbing and then hearing the legendary voiceline: Kept you waiting, huh?
