How to Edit Legend Text in an Excel Chart

In this video I demonstrate how to change the legend text in an Excel chart. By default the legend text is based on the column headings in the data on which your chart is based. You can change your legend text in two ways:

1) Change the column headings in your data
2) Edit the series name in the chart settings

You got no idea how precious this help was for me. Was short before going crazy. Would immediately spend you two beer! Clicked the link instead a couple of times and subscribed.

Thank you for making it simple. Not sure why other tutorials attempt to do this in text form using snips with the expectation that it will stick like a live demo.

Thank you. One question regarding the little square boxes (keys?) How do I not show them? I don't want any color in the legend labels.

Good afternoon! The question arose: how to enter a superscript character in the name of the row (in the legend) in Excel? I would appreciate your help.

So helpful! Thank you very much! - One thing that would help me even more, is to find a solution to increase the size of the legend symbols (in your case the small square in front of 2018/ 2018/ 2020). Any idea if this is possible and how? In any case, again many thanks!!

Hi, I need your help please,
Having difficulty with percentage formulas. My cells are showing percentages of 279%, 117%, and so on, but the percentage should either be 100% or less than 100%. When the value exceeds 100%, I want it to only show 100% complete, and if it is less than 100%, I want the actual value to be displayed.
