I worked in the early 80's on a Semi in the North Atlantic when we were hit by a storm where we had 65' waves. In fact it was so bad that the company realised too late that the movement of the heli deck was too much for evacuating most of the crew so we had to sit it out for a few hours - always something to remember even after all those years ago.👍👍👍

Interesting but I missed the part where they talked about what it's like in the middle of a storm.

Early 70's. I did a few 90 day stays on a semi-submersible barge in the Gulf of Mexico. A good experience for a 18 yr old.

Its different here. Sometimes we work 1-2 weeks. Other time its 45 days (maximum allowed) with only less than 2 weeks of rest (depending on how crucial the ongoing projects). Ive been working as an offshore contractor for oil & gas industry and hoping I'll finally be able to go oversea and experience the different work ethics and cultures.

I've always wanted to work on a oil rig. Mainly for the money.

Very interesting video, but there was never anything on oil rigs in a storm, like the title suggested.

I’m such a sucker. I thought the picture was “click bate” but, silly me, I was hoping that the picture was real - NOT! It’s too bad they gotta do that, because the rest of the information with interesting.

I think we should start making floating cities similar to oil rigs but minus the explosive gas and oil.

I am now onboard on 1982 built offshore platform and the condition of our quarters is terrible😢😢😢 How I wish I could work at this decent offshore platform. The only thing that motivate me here is $$$
