Spearfishing NY. Tautog season

The best ocean water in NY happens in October and November, when temperatures drop.
2022 has been a stormy, murky year. On October 22 I could get a couple of tautogs (blackfish). There are multiple currents in that area. Visibility and temperature can change abruptly from spot to spot, but it was generally clear.
Tautogs are not hard to get, in NY by law they have to be at least 45cm/16in long. The large ones are more skittish and tend to migrate to deeper waters as the temperatures get cooler.

I like the camera mounted on the tip of the speargun. It gets the fish to appear closer than my eye, and the barrel is not visible like on side mount setups.
I do not shoot a lot of fish, and this way I can film sealife in a way that does not appear like a hunting spearfishing video.
I use the DJI Action 2 on my speargun, and GoPro Hero 10/11 handheld.
Pros and cons with both cameras. Both are waterproof to 10m/33ft without a case. I use them that way. The DJI has no doors/ports, totally sealed. GoPro seems to have improved the water resistance of the latch from the Hero 9 and on. There is always a risk in salt water, but dive cases make the image softer, and more often show droplets on the image when used above the surface.
