Living With a 2024 Subaru Ascent Touring | Surprisingly Luxurious and Still Rugged

👋 After a whole week living with the 2024 Subaru Ascent Touring, here are my thoughts. Overall its a pretty good options if you want a practical family SUV with that Subaru rugged flare. Aside from the dash looking a bit basic and the screen having some lag, this is a nice car. Good option if you have people to haul and want adventure. If you are looking for a rugged three row SUV but also want a taste of luxury, check out the 2024 Subaru Ascent Touring. This SUV has an MSRP around $50,000 and even has real leather seating and nice amenities. This 2024 Ascent was finished in Dark Mahogany pearl and had a pretty cool look. You'll find the 2.4L turbo Boxer engine with 260 HP and 277 TQ and can even tow 5,000 pounds. The interior had plenty of space in all three rows of seating with nice features like the panoramic sunroof. The dashboard does leave a bit to be desired. Looks like a Subaru, while the rest of the interior looked a but more premium. The wood trim was a nice touch. The center multimedia screen has some lag and it's a bit annoying to operate the climate control since you have to wait for the screen to turn on first. Sometimes the climate controls take a long time to aluminate and work. So thats my biggest complaint. Driving the 2024 Subaru Ascent is petty nice. The turbo engine packs a nice punch and is really peppy. Even tho this has a CVT transmission, you still a good power delivery. The second row seats are very roomy and comfortable to sit in, and the third row is big enough too. If you want that Subaru aspects to a family SUV, this is a great way to go. Subaru Symmetrical AWD will take you anywhere and this still have that rigged aspect. All while giving you an nice interior too.

The backup camera view can be changed with a button on the screen. You can have a full reverse camera, or full 360 view. 👍

My 2021 had real buttons for climate and radio and I love it. The shift to a single large screen is to be expected given where market is going but I’m glad I have my old style instead with no auto engine shutoff too! I absolutely love its utility, mileage and comfort on long highway drives.

Picked up a 2024 Touring 2 weeks ago for the wife. I hate having no physical buttons and knobs for the HVAC. It is indeed laggy. But once set it's good! The volume button for audio is on the bottom of the steering wheel. The skip forward and back button is on the very top. Annoying. They should be at least on a D pad like on my 2017 Forester XT. Fuel door locks when you lock the vehicle. I always lock my car when I fuel up since the fuel door is on the opposite side. Taking no chances for low life kids trying to hop into the driver's door to steal things.
