The key to a successful build is knowing what you want before you start to build it. And Rob would be happy to know that his house is worth about 25% more done, than what it would have cost if someone else did the project management. Good job, well done.

OK, as a preservationist, I admit my heart stopped a little watching that little cottage come down in the beginning, but there is no argument that this is an INCREDIBLE house, and I hope your family has made it into a happy home. Congratulations Rob! I wish you and your family many beautiful years in this beautiful home! I'm super blessed to have bought my 1st home at 26 now at nearly 40 my wife and I are in the process of building our dream home in upstate NY. My brother's and I still own one of the most famous homes in the BX and the most unique waterfront home on city island. If your ever out on the water it's the big gray one across from orchard Beach. I built my own house years back and it wasn't as arduous as one would think. It's like putting together a puzzle. A good sub will offer help making it a little easier. You didn't skimp. I also foam insulated my home. Only way to go. I live in Houston therefore no basement but the heat in the summer is a killer. Anyway, great job!
