I believe sentry mode is in the pipeline - something BYD are hoping to bring but unsure when.
I reverse park a lot but I guess forward sensors are nice - I guess we're looking forward so expectation is we can see what's there 😉😉
Heads up display additional functionality would be awesome - being able to select what you want via the app perhaps 🤔
Such a great looking car no matter what!

My wife has had a BYD Seal for around 6 months while I’ve had a Tesla3 for 18 months. Major failures of the BYD include: 1. The Lane Assist function is very poor and bordering on dangerous 2. BYD Claim a range of 650 km. We have never got beyond 520km regardless of driving conditions, speed etc. if your going to buy a BYD get this in writing 3. Software updates are completely hidden and when one occurs there is no notification, no specific details and no capacity to accept or reject. 4. For Australian BYDs it is very complex to change drivers seat configuration that are saved. You have to go through multiple screen pages to get there. 5. The BYD Ap is crude to say the least. You don’t get to see the Ap till after the car is delivered and l wonder if this is deliberate.

Before buying a BYD try other e vehicles. In my experience the Tesla 3 is vastly better.

My biggest gripe with this car after owning it for a little over a month is the ADAS. It intervenes much, and most of the time it’s inaccurate. I had the car brake itself when there was nothing on my path. The car actually sensed a pedestrian on the sidewalk when I was making a turn and decided it should brake abruptly. I turned off the FCTB but left the alert on, and it still braked itself. So now I have everything turned off. I only have blind spot monitoring on, but I barely notice it anyway since I never drove a car with BSM before.

I also turned off intelligent cruise control as I often accidentally tripped the button on the steering wheel and activated cruise control by accident. It made the car apply the brake when I was overtaking someone on the highway. The ADAS in just takes away the enjoyment of driving this car.

Another thing I wish BYD improves in future models is the dash cam. I installed the OEM dash cam, which I love, but it doesnt record sound and there’s no parking mode. Parking mode is very important imo. And the video gets all messed up during hard braking (which in my case was an ADAS error).

One minor thing, which I saw BYD has fixed with the facelifted Seal is the placement of the start/stop button. In the current model it’s located in the same vicinity with the EPB. I turned the car off once when the car was still in reverse. In the updated Seal, BYD moved this button to the upper left corner. It’s more strategically placed I think.

I hadnt noticed the negatives you mentioned in the video, probably because this is my first EV, and also the most automated car I’ve ever owned. Overall I’m very pleased with the car. It’s so much better now that I’ve disabled all the ADAS. Love the ride and the acceleration. Amazing cruiser.

The difficulty with the HUD is probably the projection system. I was under the impression that it had fixed elements and therefore would require a replacement rather than just a software upgrade to display other information. A lot of vehicle HUDs can also only display navigation from the onboard navigation system, not Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, etc.
The front USS is a big miss and one I hadn’t noticed in my test drives. The front and rear cameras also get dirty really easily due to their location.
The face lifted model due next year is the one I’m waiting for.

agree with front parking sensor. Only other thing is that the sound system is just OK. Otherwise the car is awesome

My top 3 is.
1. No range shown when navigating. No charger suggestions.
2. General UI is confusing and alot of wrong words, misspelled or strange settings the text can’t even explain what it does.
3 Charging rapidgates when the car can’t cool the battery. Fruiating when on long trips.
4. Can’t set max AC charging speed.
5. Half way done keyless with the phone.
6. Running airplay and charging shuts diwn the phone due to heat. Need ventilated charging.
7. Phones can’t stay still on the charging mat giving notifcations that the phones starts charging all the time.

Seat memory position. Currently there are too many menus to navigate to change the memory seat positions. This should be a shortcut and linked to the key/digital key. Also adding the HUD height setting to the seat memory position option.

I found it has no front parking sensor in the worst way. It was showing 50cm distance, but I hit the front car when I was parking. The bumper is very flexible, so no damage there. But I found that BYD badge is cut in the bumper and made with semitransparent acrylic, probably to add a backlight on it. As it is fragile, broke and I had to replace it. At least it was cheap, USD 20 the piece.

does it record all the cameras locally like dashcam ??

and when its turned off it doesn't has this feature? or its nit recording at all ?

Actually, if you switch the car to reverse, the front sensors will switch on. It's a bug, not the position of the sensors. Lack of navigation in the HUD is a miss in my opinion. I don't care at all for the consumption reporting. The biggest miss is a lack of pet mode. I can't leave my dogs with the arcon on and alarm off like you can in a Tesla. The alarm will even go off if my son stays in the car during charging.

Worst con for me is buit in Navigation system. It also doesnt know any place you need to go. So you need to use Google maps or other Navigators apps

I have many far worst issues than yours
1 - Steering wheel vibrating no matter what road conditions I am in since I bought it, reported to BYD Service dealer in Australia and still not resolve for three months now
2 - The left side passenger mirror is not able to adjust inward far enough to see the back of the car for short leg people.
3 - Both corners of the front doors and the dashboard not flush, maybe due to design flaws or manufacturing defects.
4 - the back of the trunk is not flush to the back of the car, once again properly due to design flaws or manufacturing defects.

Those are not a cons at all, cons are - if you drive in a sport mode battery lasts for 400 km max, suspension is harder than other cars that you will feel any small cracks in the road and in a sunny days glass top gets really hot right top of your head
