World News: Barack Obama to invest in NBA business to help improve livelihoods

Former US President Barack Obama has joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) Africa as a minority owner in order to help advance the NBA's social responsibility programmes that aim at improving the livelihoods of young Africans while raising awareness on gender-based violence and promoting girls' education.

Meanwhile, eight mosques in Ivory Coast have won the World Heritage status. The mosquitoes in northern Ivory Coast, have a unique style believed to have originated in the Mali Empire seven centuries ago. The buildings are highly important testimonies to the trans-saharan trade. Their new status means they are considered to have universal cultural value that will grant them extra protection.

Elsewhere, Sydney's lock down has been extended by another month as other Australian cites reopen. Sydney has been in lock down for five weeks now as the five million residents say they have been enjoying a fairly normal lifestyle this year until the outbreak happened
