Really enjoyed this, and was well Portrayed, I know in The Black Community being Gay, is frowned upon, why ??? I don’t know but this was EXCELLENT, we need more Series like this to Educate and enlighten people.

I'm on episode 4 thus far it's just brilliant. Never read the book but boy that generation really went through it I'm so glad this seried has been made to serve as a reminder what people had to endure because society and religion told them too. How so many people sacrificed love n happiness and spent their lives living in bandage. You wander why we have so many men in Africa /carribbean on the DL. This a stark reminder. I wonder if our elders will now have the courage to set themselves free if they watch this. Its so good it should be doing the rounds. Wirh all the characters especially Barry and Maurice I really want to hear from them why they took this role? Their thoughts process etc. Lonnie James is a class Act he can act anything. Maurice characters is so believable you realky see and feel his pain and loss.

I think as a people we need to be more critical of who and why our history, culture is portrayed on tv. With all the stories that could have been depicted - the bbc commission this story. Who commissioned this? Very disappointing.

The author is of mixed Nigerian and British descent. I wonder why she didn't write about a Nigerian immigrant? I am not a fan of her books and find her potrayal of WestIndian and black American characters problematic.
