This Time is an album by American country music artist Waylon Jennings, released on RCA Victor in 1974, at the peak of the outlaw country movement. It was produced by Jennings and Willie Nelson.
Låtskrivere: J. J. Cale

Waylon Arnold Jennings (June 15, 1937 – February 13, 2002) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician.
Jennings began playing guitar at age eight and began performing at age twelve on KVOW radio, after which he formed his first band, The Texas Longhorns. Jennings left high school at age sixteen, determined to become a musician, and bounced around as a performer and DJ on KVOW, KDAV, KYTI, KLLL, in Coolidge, Arizona, and Phoenix.
In 1958, Buddy Holly arranged Jennings's first recording session, and hired him to play bass. Jennings gave up his seat on the ill-fated flight in 1959 that crashed and killed Holly, J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson and Ritchie Valens.
Jennings formed a rockabilly club band, The Waylors, which became the house band at "JD's", a club in Scottsdale, Arizona. He recorded for independent label Trend Records and A&M Records, but did not achieve success until moving to RCA Victor, taking on Neil Reshen as a manager, who negotiated significantly better touring and recording contracts for him.
After finally wresting creative control from RCA Victor, his career turning point became the critically acclaimed albums Lonesome, On'ry and Mean and Honky Tonk Heroes, followed by hit LPs Dreaming My Dreams and Are You Ready for the Country. During the 1970s, Jennings was instrumental in the inception of outlaw country and with Willie Nelson, Tompall Glaser, and Jessi Colter recorded country music's first platinum album, Wanted! The Outlaws. It was followed by Ol' Waylon and the hit song "Luckenbach, Texas".

Lyrics:
I got a gal in Baton Rouge she calls me Louisiana
She gives me a little something to eat she knows just what I want she treats me right
Lord Lord Lord treats me right (yes she does) treats me right (yeah take it Willie)
[ guitar ]
I went down to New Orleans to have myself a ball
The ladies there they don't care they just don't care at all
But they treat you right Lord Lord Lord treat you right Louisiana gal treats you right
[ harmonica ]
From the gulf of the Mississippi up to Baton Rouge
With the Louisiana ladies boy you just can't lose
They'll treat you right Lord Lord Lord treat you right yeah treat you right boy
[ steel - keyboard ]
I got a gal in Baton Rouge she called me Louisiana

I remember when I got to see Waylon in concert in Germany in 83. His voice sounded bad, probably because of drugs but I was so excited just to be there. My army first sergeant took me to the concert. Years later when Waylon died, another friend had gone to the memorial service at the Ryman and he gave me an extra program. I had it laminated. Years after that, some 20+ years after I got out of the army, I got in touch with the 1sgt online. I sent him that program and told him how much it meant to me that he and his wife took me to that concert years earlier. RIP Waylon.

This is REAL country music. Great band, greatest voice. Modern pop country music is pathetic, they should be ashamed.
