My uses for carrot greens :
In smoothies or green juices ; as a garnish for soups, salads or roasted veg; chopped into a salad, add them to veggie burgers or use them in place of parsley or tarragon.
They also make a lovely pesto for drizzling over new potatoes, pasta, roast veg or to have as a dip with crackers. Just pulse them in a food processor with garlic, olive oil and roasted pumpkin seeds. 👌

Dear Sean, you only need to put that lovely pot of preserve in the fridge once you have opened it. I also write the date I open a pot on the lid with a permanent marker pen, as the pot will say on it somewhere how long you can keep it once opened. I did the same as you with the Christmas Waitrose Delivery slot, as I have to get everything delivered to me, due to only going out to walk Madge, and living in a very rural place in West Devon, I too found the same thing, that even though it is the beginning of October, I was lucky to get a slot on the 21st December, as all the ones nearer Christmas Day were already taken! As you also mentioned, if you put things in to come to over the minimum order of £40 it will hold your slot, and you can change it up to the day before your delivery is due. LOVE your little new microwave, love the colour and the wood effect handles etc. I have had my microwave - a Panasonic one - for 41 years now, and I use it almost every day! Thanks for the video, Blessings from Jilly & Madge in West Devon, England.

Those freezing things that come with the food we put in the freezer and use as wine chillers in a vase 😂.

I keep any spare ice packs in the cool bag I take shopping. Some companies have gone over to using unprocessed wool for insulation, which is good slug control, or to put round the water but taps / pipes, or as a mulch.
Garlic has many beneifical medicinal properties, might help ward off nasties (illnesses) going into & through winter. An old 'tale I was told, that Hanging onions & garlic in the kitchen helps keep viral illnessnes away. A self proclaimed wiccan told me this when I commented on her beautiful homegrown garlic & onion plaits hanging in her kitchen, before I washed her floor.
(I tried it last year, didn't have a sniffle!) Although both (& leeks) are toxic to cats.
You could make a ratatouille with the aubergine, courgette, garlic and other veg etc etc, Do it in the slow cooker and make some home made ready meals, ideal for freezing, if you get poorly / get home late from the homestead & need a quick poppidy-ping meal. (Love the welsh for microwave!).

Always pleasant to visit with you by video. I’m always shocked by how much purchasing you do 😳

If you keep your sp 16:00 are jars of jam, mayo etc in your cupboard, it will remind you to add them to your shopping list when you use them to replace emty jars in fridge.

Gale did a beautiful job on your picture. She draws wonderfully. Thank you for sharing it with us. Hello from Upstate NY in the Mohawk Valley. We are having a glorious fall 🍁. The leaves on the Adirondack mountains are turning beautiful colors.

If you bought a dehumidifier you wouldn't need to put the heating on or open the windows and it only costs pennies to run.

I dry clothes inside with a fan blowing on them or in the winter, near a space heater but not too close. It has a blower and I dry my hair in the winter by it as well. I tried vegetable boxes but too many things I didn't want. Pretty microwave! I owned an old gas stove that color once.

You buy alot of food for just one person, I’d like to see how much gets thrown away, I agree with the other comment you buy alot of items on line weekly, is this just boredom some of the time

I sympathise with your shed needing a sort out!
Like you, I am good at tidying, but, blimey, I can’t keep it tidy🥴
I always wait until it becomes a ‘crisis’ .
Heyho.
Crisis management, I guess.

Hello from West Wales, The Newt Garden is open to the public and it is beautiful. To answer your question, I make natural dye with my carrot tops.

Not a criticism, more an observation. Did you say you were not buying anything else to save up for Christmas? Its not easy, Amazon at your fingertips etc. Looking forward to the live stream.
