AAMFP is a collaborative effort between Frictional Games and thechineseroom. Expected release date is early 2013.

AAMFP features a soundtrack by Jessica Curry.

SQUEAL, little piggies, SQUEAL

We want your fear. Record your screams, your whimpers, your blood curdling shrieks of terror and you could star in Amnesa: A Machine for Pigs.

We are on the hunt for the sounds of fear, panic, terror, anguish, torture and horrid, awful death to include in the soundtrack for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.

We don't care who does the screaming. We just want the fear

Definitely doing a playthrough of this on youtube when it launches. My most hyped game this year I think

This needs a good, thorough remastering.

The game is much more scarier if you don't know before hand you're almost never in danger. It is vastly less scary than Dark Descent, but the atmosphere and dread are just as good.

What frightened me the most was how much I sympathized with Mandus.

Not a bad standalone game, but as an Amnesia game, you will be disappointed.

I'm sorry; but you do realize that, even though it wasn't as scary as the first Amnesia game, it was still a wonderfully crafted game in and of itself? It told a pretty interesting story and still had some of those Amnesia like moments in it. Hating on a game just because it didn't scare you shitless is not a reason to shit on the game itself, my friend.

OK, before reading this, know that I absolutely LOVED this game when I played through it. However, it was not the terrifying experience I wanted it to be, there was not enough exploration, and the enemies were extremely easy to get away from. In TDD, if an enemy sees you, it would be almost impossible to escape from, unlike AMFP. Also, I never even needed to hide ONCE! And that area at 1:12 in this teaser was one of the areas I was looking forward to the MOST! But unfortunately, they decided AGAINST putting a terrifying area in the game. And because there were so few enemies, and the fact that they were extremely easy to get away from, I never felt like I was in any sort of actual danger. Other than that, it is a fantastic game, and I absolutely enjoyed it.

Hey frictional, I'm a videogame musician (not that it matter a lot) but I have general anxiety disorder, pretty severe case, and adhd, so I'm a wreck of an alcoholic, but I find your guy's games absolutely therapeutic. the ones you've released under frictional. Can't wait for this game, even though I can barely stand being social outside, I find videogames way easier to deal with, and after I play penumbra or amnesia, I find myself more sociable.

A remake or mod that adds the unused infection mechanic along with Laudanum and Penicilin could fix this game, as well as maybe making it so the lantern has to be recharged with something simillar to TDD's oil potions.

All the angry amnesia fanboy comments from 6 years ago lol, it's an amazing game.

Agreed.

The game plays on our primal fears of the unknown, being helpless, and being alone. Add to that its immersive nature, and that's what makes it such a uniquely scary experience.

I liked it. Not scary but was still good.

Even If AMFP had same gameplay as TDD(Sanity, inventory etc), we don't feel scary as TDD, Because we know how to avoid monsters, when to use lantern for keep sanity, how to manage consumables etc.

We don't scare things which we have experienced before and already know how to handle them.
In other word, Fear diminish If used same method..

So I think Chinese Room decision wasn't bad, they decide make different type game instead use same game system.
Only thing I miss from TDD is good puzzles.

So I like AMFP as much as TDD.

Btw, I posted same comments on other trailer too.

As for your comments on the lack of tinderboxes and oil, that's a HUGE shot in the foot for this game. By removing that, you remove any need or desire to explore the world and really appreciate the design of the halls and rooms you roam. This game is so aggressively linear that it might as well be on a conveyor belt the whole way through. In fact, removing the oil (or 1899 equivalent) makes you LESS focused on the game because it doesn't encourage you to stop and smell the roses.

I had such high hopes for this game. I really like the story, the setting and visuals, but this does not feel like a true Amnesia sequel. The title alone seems really unnerving, the trailers differ greatly from the actual game. In short, the gameplay is just boring, and much of the sequences were a muddled mess. Yes, I was expecting this to be better than The Dark Descent and I'm sure all of us wanted that. Don't get me wrong, I do like this game, but there could've been much more than what we got. We even had community mods that are far better than this developed by a handful of people or even one person in a short amount of time. I wished Frictional Games was in full control of the sequel and not TheChineseRoom. If you played "Dear Esther" and this game, you'll find little difference other than it being a horror game. The sound work, music, and visuals easily top that of The Dark Descent's in a lot of cases, voice acting was great, but just the core of Amnesia is missing from this game. 7/10

Wasted potential. if frictional games had some control over the development of the game, we might’ve had a successful sequel for amnesia the dark descent. It was the same for penumbra requiem.

Thanks, Cpt. Obv.
I just mentioned Jessica, because i didn't seen this soundtrack on one of the pages on AMFP site. And this was a new soundtrack for the game. Not for others.

Bad about this game.
1 Motion blue shimmer blur shit fuck its useless.
2 Scary? no not really kinda important in a scary game lol.
3 Take me from point A to point B have 100 locked doors in the game why so straigthforward dumb idea.
4 Notes ALL THOSE FUCKING NOTES.
5 Enemies, Pigs felt clumsy, unreal and the encounters were ALWAYS forced.
6 Feeling Where was that eerieness and uneasy feeling from the first game, you were always watching your back, this was more like i hold your hand game.

My biggest dissapointment in gaming history. This game was awful. Thanks to Chinese Room. This game had no atmosphere, no interaction, no puzzles, no custom stories and short story line.
