Yay---21/21. But I'm a former PR writer who, in my late 40s ended up teaching English (favorite job of all time). I'm OLD now...75. My problem is not whether I know the definitions...but whether I can remember them!! So far...so good. Nursing home may be a bit farther off than I worry about. Anyway, your word quizzes are great fun. Thank you.

Scored 20/21! Using BeLikeNative for content localization. Believe me, this tool taught me that different cultures use the same word differently. You need a precise tool to identify that uniqueness.

I got 20/21, this is a great tool for people learning English or just wanting to improve their vocabulary. At last a useful quiz.

I got 19 correct, having never encountered the words obstreperous or encomium before. I did know the meanings of all the others without having to make lucky guesses. The first 16 or so words here should be in the vocabulary of every English-speaking adult.

19/21 native english speaker who has always enjoyed reading and learning new words. The two wrong words: 1. apocryphal - I've heard and read it often, but had the wrong idea of it's meaning 2. Encomium - first time I have ever come across this word. Thanks, it was fun ...

you couldn't have chosen better words! they all perfectly fit into their respective category and increased in difficulty as expected; from, "yeah, that's pretty easy, isn't it?" to, "wait a second, I surely heard this one before; when I give it a few, I might just recall it" to, "what language did you say is this supposed to be?!"

English isn't my first language but consider myself to be fairly advanced nonetheless. I used to live in Canada for about five years and don't face any language barriers or whatsoever in everyday situations.

but still, while I kept a perfect score during the first two categories, I've only heard of two words in the last one. those aren't exactly words you need to get around in your daily life, but are certainty nice to know.

BOOM! Got ’em all, though I had to guess on obstreperous and encomium. Mom used to say, “He started talking at barely one year old and we ain’t been able to shut him up since!” 50 years ago school district spelling bee champion and now this. The sky’s the limit when you talk more goodly.

Im an English teacher. I love this channel and recommend it to my students.
A question... how do you determine the level of difficulty?

I got 18. I think a key to learning and expanding vocabulary is to read, read, and read. I t remember when I started reading, I read Nancy Drew Mysteries all summer long when I was 10. That was the 70s. Oh, and the spelling bees. I love the quote, " not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers". I use the dictionary when I don't know a word. And I play lots of Scrabble.

Got them all. 76 years old and I can define words though I can’t always call the precise word to mind that I need in conversation.

I just completed 8 quizzes involving words, verbs, adjectives, phrases, and so on. I averaged the results and I'm happy to report a consistent 85%. Fun fact: I'm from the province of Quebec and french is my primary language. This channel is a fantastic skill builder and you are an exeptional communicator. Thank you!

21/21 but I am British, 77 years old, a voracious reader and educated to College level.
However, there are several words here that would challenge many of my compatriots - including some of my nearest and dearest - sorry if this sounds patronising.
Congratulations to those who are non-English speaking and have done well.
I have always thought English must be difficult to learn even to native speakers!

Wow, seventeen out of twenty one is not a bad achievement for me as a Brazilian who has learned English by myself.

I've got the 1st and 2nd levels all correct, but boy level 3 was much harder than I thought. I got only 1 correct at level 3, but I definitely enjoyed it !

Thanks for making this video
