So what are the best snacks to eat in Hawaii? When you are in Hawaii, there are a lot of great snacks to try. These are my recommendations for snacks to enjoy in Hawaii and I think a lot of locals enjoy them. You'll probably enjoy these snacks, especially if you like salty snacks like chips and pretzels. The snacks on this list aren't ones that you'll try once and probably never try again. If you visit Hawaii, hope you get a chance to try these. Very ono!

Filmed on the Canon Vixia HF G60.

Recent visitors to Oahu. Thank you for this post, I watched it before we traveled and made a grocery list! From Safeway (Kapahulu Drive) I purchased 2 bags of Hurricane Mix ($7.49 each) and Diamond Soda Crackers ($4.99). We ate the soda crackers with cheese for lunch/snacks, ono! I was expecting a Saltine Cracker, but these are much more dense and substantial. The Hurricane Mix was mailed to the mainland with shirts from 88Tees to ohana. Mahalo for these local finds!

Nice choices in snacks Chris! Mine were the Saki Ika, Ono Giant Shrimp Chips, and really old school snack food I like is when you get a Sapporo Ichiban ramen, you open up a pack, take out the soup packet, then you smash the dried ramen in the bag, then pour in the soup mix in the bag and shake it to mix and wham, ono salty snack! lol

Yes! Every person I know gets addicted to my mochi crunch here on the mainland. My favorite is Yakko. It tastes better than Sakura (more shoyu flavor), but it’s also a harder crunch. My other favorite is Li Hing powder and specifically Li Hing Sour Patch Kids. I cannot live without it!

I was born and raised in Hawaii on the big island, Hilo side near Kurtistown. Visited Waimea and Kona frequently. Eventually moved back to Oahu, Mililani Mauka area as an adult and I've never come across any of these except the Taro Chips like only once and recently too.

How strange I've lived there all of my life until just a little while ago and haven't even known of most these snacks.

There is a brand of chips that has taro chips in with lots of other types, like sweet potato, batata, and parsnip. Terra Chips. Not easy to find, but they are usually at Amazon. The taro chips are my favourites in the bag.

OMG! One Ton chips??!! I live in Australia & I was only just talking to my husband about a nacho dish we had at Moana Surfrider a few times. They used 'won ton chips' instead of nacho chips... it was delicious!! Now, thanks to you, I know what chips to buy cos we want to try & make them here lol.

Wow - I was in Hilo last month and saw these at a local KTA and took a chance on a bag - they were so good! I think they're made in Hilo too.

What about Li Hing Mui? A tip for the Hurricane Popcorn, is to fold the top in. It shortens the bag and protects your arm.

Wait, you didn't know about One Ton Chips until you came back from college? That barbell lifting dude on the bag is iconic. That stuff has been around for a long, long time.

I can buy Hawaiian Host macadamia chocolates at my local Asian market for $5 a box. ABC Stores proliferate in Las Vegas. It’s nice to visit for coffee and shortbread cookies.
