A forgotten picture of Merchant /Ivory! Unfortunately! A masterpiece! I love the picture, the music, the plot and the age. Fatty Arbuclke or CHICO BÓIA in Brazil have destroyed his career with Virginia Rappe case. It has been a tragedy but at the same time a motive for a great picutre. This is from a fascinating movie, especially for those of us who are fans of the period. Welch does a remarkably good job here... Some of the background music that you hear in this clip is from "The Hertbert Hoover Drag", an original composition with lyrics that are a nifty satire of the period.. And a fun dance number, too. (As I recall, it showed up after this number.) Nice upload, thanks - -

I haven't seen the whole film, but if Queenie sings this song every night, then it is a routine. Which often looks rehearsed.

great video. dude, do you happen to know the name of the song they dance in the next scene of the movie; in which queenie dance with the other guy. the tune of the song can be hear in the backgroung while jolly is talking to this other guy.

Great film, but I think the image at 3:15 is bordering on a kitsch juxtaposition:
The flapper routine in front of the Bhudda.
Perhaps I'm just not enlightened enough yet to "get it"...

The song should have been pre recorded. I love Raquel, but she looks rehearsed here. Never quite owning the song, but then she isn't known for her singing or dancing. Her best role will forever be MYRA BRECKINRIDGE
