My Honest MSC Cruise Review

I always catch some heat when I talk smack about MSC, but I'm always going to give you my honest take, both good and bad.

Been on 9 msc cruises and have never had a negative experience. A cruise ship full of Passengers from the United States is a very different experience than if you sail in South America or Europe. Sail MSC in Europe and it’s a whole different vibe. Been on all sizes of MSC ships including the newest, the oldest and the smallest.

Me personally I love MSC as U.S citizen. My first cruise on MSC was full of Europeans, I think the phrases thank you and excuse me isn't part of the European culture I guess and that's what makes them seem kinda rude. My second time on MSC I was in the yacht club which was full of mostly U.S citizens. I love MSC because of their prices.

We cruised for the first time on MSC in 2017 on the DIVINA… We have seen many many changes and we definitely enjoy cruising on MSC as well as all other lines… But I agree with you we love love, love their private island and would love to just stay there for a whole week

Sorry that you had a bad experience on Magnifica, my wife and I had a great time in Sep 2024. Really enjoyed our time on Magnifica. We are headed out on World America in Oct 2025.

My biggest complaint is I do not like the mall feeling. I feel like I’m in a mall and not on a ship. Also there are not enough public lounges to hang out in for the amount of people on board.

We just got back on April 6th. The food on the Meraviglia was great. Breakfast, lunch and dinners. Marketplace buffet was good also. No complaints.

OMG also did Magnifica and felt like it was a big no to go on MSC .. then did Meravaglia out of Brooklyn and we both really liked it, and food was good and all in all was great ! Felt no hostility on my cruise and would agree about their private island .. and prices are SOOO much better than other major cruises, but need to get on Carnival since it's been over 20 years since I've been on them ..

My wife and I just booked our FIRST cruise on MSC on there new ship World America for a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise including there private island Ocean Cay for late October of this year. Also we are booked the Yacht Club in a Deluxe suite on deck 21.
I hope we made a good decision but the itinerary and price was right so we decided to give it a try.

We also have a luxury cruise booked for MSC Explora Journeys booked for 8 nights on Explora III in their Cove Residence suite for 2027 as well.

How do you know if you’re choosing a newer ship versus a smaller older ship?

I have only ever cruised on Royal. I have heard before that MSC operates a bit differently as far as gratuities and other things not being included but not sure what this means, do you have any insight?

Will be cruising on the Opera in September. Yes a bit of a different vibe than on the American ships (RC, Norwegian etc). Not as loud as RC/Carnival/NCL (fewer North Americans). Food is OK, an area where the Royal Carribeans excel (mainly buffets). Bottom line, a cruise ship, IMHO, is nothing more than a ''bus''. From point A to B, on time, nice ports, no drama. MSC fits that ''plain jane'' type of feel.

We refuse to sail on any small ships or weekend cruises on Carnival. Crowds are very unruly and rude AF. Only week or more and larger ships!!!!

we did the Magnifica last year and it was good. The food was good and the parties were top notch. The comedian was terrible but we loved it
