At the proclamation of the empire, Bismarck didn't actually wear his white ceremonial Garderobe, this was simply added in the third addition of the famous painting that highlighted his importance. In the original and in the flesh he wore the traditional Prussian blue, more fitting for a man of his nature it has to be said

Hollywood will never make anything historically correct on German/Prussian perspective. Hope someone in Germany will try to make a full web-series on this fabulous subject in history. People need to understand the events led to Franco-Prussian war 1870-71, then the Great War 1914-18 and then WW-II 1939-45. Thanks The History Channel for sharing it.

What was happening when the King was handing out medals after the Denmark war. The second award to Karl friedrich Sevon of our house, someone comments to Bismarck I wouldn’t want to be him, and Bismarck says he did it on himself ? Lots of eyes back and forth between the Prince elect and his wife ?
I couldn’t find any references to what was happening?

This movie i think was well made and beautifully crafted and it upto us to delve into it to capture the underlying play of things.This movie may look like those old Charlie Chaplin ones, but its not. See his art of politics. See how General Moltke plan the war with a map and at the same scene it shows how it was executed, though the actual scene of the war is not shown. This movie is 10/10 ❤
