The funny thing is that I knew she was "The Man" the second I saw her on NXT. There was just something about her that screamed "I AM THE NEXT BIG THING!"

One of my proudest moments as a wrestling fan was Becky Lynch proving that right.

As iconic as this segment is, people, especially who want to discredit Becky, overuse it to say "she got famous thanks to the punch". Truth is she was already the hottest thing in the company since the summerslam build up. This woman even mocked edge for his injury and got cheered

Becky is literally the best female wrestler of the current generation. A friend of mine asked me what the point of her gimmick was with the whole "The Man" angle (he hadnt watched wrestling since we were kids) & I kinda just summed her up as the Female Irish Stone Cold. Shes a complete badass who just wrecks the house & people love her for it. (Probably not a good description but after a few months he's basically a fanboy now)

Note for the many people with a short memory: She was already a hugely popular champion, and growing in popularity with each week, BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. The 'heel' turn on Charlotte, the change in attitude - that was the defining moment.

I remember that episode vividly. I told my wife to sit down and showed her this segment. Told her that Becky was going to blow up after this and she quickly became my favorite women's wrestler, ever. She doesn't care for wrestling, and couldn't be bothered, but I kept showing her the same details of what happened here. 😂
