A not so uncommon story of a Asian immigrants would be like my friend who is Chinese but was born in Vietnam. He came to the USA after escaping on a small boat with 50 people on board and made his way to the Philippines and was placed in a refuge camp. He was allowed to enter the USA. He was penniless with very little English skills. Fast forward. He is now very successful one of his kids works for a huge firm on Wall Street the other one is a medical doctor in one generation this occurred.
