In the movie The Core, the Earth's core actually stops spinning altogether due to the US government shocking the core or some nonsense lol. It's an OK movie.

Not many youtubers or press got this right. The core has not stopped spinning (which is actually impossible due to its inertia) but it does slow down or speed up slightly compared to the spin of the rest of the Earth.

There is a whole raft of natural things that effect us, some in the long term, some in the shorter term.
People see the sun come up every day and think nothing is changing, but it is happening without them noticing it .
Even the sun is changing .
Every year the earth itself slows down a bit in rotation, even big earthquakes can effect the earths rotation speed, every year the moon is moving away from us about 2 inches iirc, and this sounds like nothing, but when you factor in this has probably been happening for millions of years, one day the moon will float off into space, and like the earths core and magnetic fields, it will have an effect on us and not in a good way .
They speculate that mars once had a stronger magnetic field and when the field weakened it allowed the atmosphere and most of the liquid on the planet to disappear over time .
I also saw or read that as our little solar system travels around the galaxy at a slow pace, it apparently changes its inclination on the way around which may very also have an effect on earth and our neighbouring planets, and this is probably just the norm but because our little earthling lives don’t last long enough to see these things, we won’t even see these changes which probably have happened many times before like a seasonal phenomenon .
This is just the nature of things, here for a good time …… not a long time
